Alumni Outreach
Big Sib Program
Tired of roaming the halls wondering what course VI is all about?
Are you a veteran of Course VI and want to share your experiences?
Then you need to join.........
The Eta Kappa Nu Big Sib Program!
Freshmen and sophomores will have the opportunity to meet a junior, senior, or
M.Eng. course VIer and get advice on issues related to Course VI. Sophomores who
were little sibs last year are also eligible to become big sibs.
HKN will be sponsoring socials and other fun events where
big and little sibs can get to know each other.
The role of a big sib is to provide some practical advice about Course
VI, similar to the role of freshman year associate advisors. Big sibs
can offer advice about what classes to take, how to find funding,
where to get UROPs, the bachelors and M.Eng. programs, and much, much
more. In addition to academic advice, big sibs can also be a resource
for non-academic matters, helping their little sibs in getting to know
the Boston and Cambridge areas along with important resources on and
off campus.
A time will be arranged for you to meet your sib once the match is
made. After the initial meeting, it's up to you to keep in touch with
your sib, and determine between the two of you how often to meet. Our
socials and other events are intended to give you a place to get
together and to help you keep in touch during the term.
